The summer time brings out the best events in Chicago. Not only do we have annual neighborhood fests, rooftop parties and local electronic music festivals, there always seems to be something new happening all over the city in regards to the Chicago night life. As the summer draws near, so do the announcements for the hot new events in Chicago. This time, it involves a new event series brought to you by the creative minds of Alan Brant (currently the Festival Social Media Manager for React Presents), Alex Delgado, and Artur Januszkiewicz to bring about this new monthly event series called I/O Sessions. Together, they have partnered with React Presents and The Mid to shed light on Chicago’s talented underground Techno and House Music artists.
I/O Sessions is hosted in the Century Room at The Mid and it officially launched last month with quite the talented lineup that featured their resident DJ’s, InSoul (KMS Recordings), Alejandro, Avenue B, Dan Ryan, and Ludo Mir. Their next event will be this upcoming Friday, April 28th which will feature none other than Garrett David (Smartbar-Queen!/Gramaphone) as the event’s headliner. Garrett will be playing some of his unreleased tracks that will soon be released exclusively on vinyl. In addition to this already exciting lineup, the I/O Sessions team has announced a new 360 degree Live Stream that can be accessed via the link provided below, so be sure to tune in live if you are unable to attend this event.
About the I/O Sessions team:
Alan Brant grew up in the north suburbs of Chicago. It was during his early college years at the University of Missouri that he was introduced to House Music. While in school, he began working at The Blue Note, a local music venue, where he got his first taste of the music industry. He was then given the opportunity to organize events at the local music venues in town, but because those venues closed at 2am, he began to get involved in the after hours party scene there. Once back in Chicago, he became involved with Open House – a long standing weekly event formally hosted at Crocodile in Wicker Park, Chicago. Over time, he continued to learn more about what it took to organize events. He quickly teamed up with like minded individuals and thus, Input/Output was born.
Alex Delgado (Alejandro) broke through the Chicago nightclub scene at an early age. While living in London for several months, he was inspired to curate events similar to those he had experienced in Europe. In his time abroad, Alejandro has released music on Twisted Fusion (UK) and has been featured on music blogs such as Data Transmission. This experience led him to play locally in Chicago, as well as in Miami for Miami Music Week. He now has teamed up with Alan and Artur to create Input/Output.
Artur Januszkiewicz (Ludo Mir) grew up in a family with musical background. His father is a Jazz musician, which insipired him to persue music at an early age. He began DJing and Producing his freshman year of college. His continuous hard work and practice led him to his first residency at Open House. Through this experience and networking with this event, he received valuable advice about the music business that paved the way for him to want to curate his own events. Working with a close group of friends to form Input/Output, they decided to come together and create I/O Sessions.
